Black Bear Hunting at Route Lake Lodge

Black Bear Hunting at Route Lake Lodge

Experience the thrill of black bear hunting in the pristine wilderness of Northwest Ontario at Route Lake Lodge. With two expansive Bear Management Areas, we provide an exceptional opportunity to harvest a trophy black bear—including the occasional rare color-phase bear. Our focus is on quality over quantity, with limited tags to ensure a healthy population and sustainable hunting.

We strive for a 100% opportunity rate, with strategically placed stands just 30–40 yards from active bait sites. Baiting begins mid-July, and trail cameras help us monitor bear activity to put you in the right spot at the right time. Hunts are available for rifle, muzzleloader, crossbow, or compound bow.

Non-resident season opens August 15. Choose from boat-access or drive-to stands, all within close proximity to our main landing. Enjoy the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation with our bear hunting and fishing package—unmatched action by day, and peaceful time on the lake by evening.
